Job Opportunity: Lab & Facilities Manager

Startup Sandbox is an incubator for bioscience and dry lab companies located in Westside Santa Cruz. We support seed stage companies through their technical validation stage and provide any service they need along the way, from office and lab space to business consultation and contacts for services.

The Lab & Facilities Manager leads the day-to-day management of the lab and office facilities and is the face of Startup Sandbox to our members. The role's responsibilities include:

  • Understand, follow, and enforce lab safety standards and protocols

  • Monitor and maintain lab supplies, including contacting vendors when needed

  • Assess and address member needs and concerns

  • Address any facilities issue, big or small

  • 15-20 hours a week with flexible hours

 

The ideal candidate has:

  • A background in biosciences: pursuing Bachelors, Masters, PhD or beyond

  • Initiative to take on problems and find solutions

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • The desire to learn new skills and address any issues that may arise

  • Proactive problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent communication skills
